I called them up and asked they even knew whether the orthodontist was coming back at all, or what. They didn’t know. I don’t like the idea of plunking down almost six grand and having two plus years of seeing a rotation of different orthodontists. So I cancelled my appointment, and got another referal from my dentist. I have an initial appointment schedualed for 10/4. I have to get my records from the first place, and bring them up. This has all been very frustrating, and there has been a bunch of time and money wasted, and this really sucks!
I was supposed to have had an orthodontist appointment on 9/7 to get braces. This whole process started about 2 years ago. I have spent thousands of dollars at the periodontist, had multiple meetings with the orthodontist, and spent hundreds of dollars for detailed records of my teeth (xrays, pictures, molds, etc). My 9/7 appointment which I had waited over a month for was rescheduled due to a “medical emergency”. So my appointment was rescheduled for 9/27. I took the soonest appointment they had, instead of waiting for a late afternoon appointment like I had previously waited for. I got a call this morning to find out how I was planning on making payment. I told them I was going to pay it all front with a check (I would get a 6% discount). Fine. Then I get a call back in the afternoon saying oh by the way, did anyone mention that the Dr. is out due to a medical condition, and other doctors will be filling in. WHAT? Frankly the whole situation is really frustrating me! I started this process two years ago, and when I finally am supposed to get to starting the actually treatment, they are bringing in some guy who I have never met, who has never seen my teeth, and who wasn’t referred to me by my regular dentist. And I am supposed to plunk down close to six thousand dollars for treatment from an orthodontist who may not even be coming back? This really sucks! I am seriously considering calling them tomorrow, and postponing my appointment until the regular guy comes back, or transferring to another orthodontist.
