I wish I had had a Waterpik recommended to me sooner! Who could have imagined a $35 investment could have saved me hundreds or thousands of dollars?
When I wanted to get my teeth straightened I went to an orthodontist. The orthodontist sent me to a periodontist to work on my gums, and get them healthy. I ended up spending thousands of dollars there. Actually after insurance, maybe between $500 and $1000 out of my own pocket. After I got my my gums all healthy, I went back to an orthodontist (different one this time). The orthodontist recommended a Waterpik. I had never used a Waterpik before. I am convinced that if I had had the Waterpik in the first place I would have never had to have gone to the periodontist! On my last two visits to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned my gums haven’t bled as they routinely did before.
So my teeth cleaning routine these days is brush my teeth with my Braun Oral B electric toothbrush. Then I use the Waterpik with about 30 ounces of tap water, and set to max pressure. Then I rinse my mouth out with Listerine. I do use a Waterpik Hummingbird Flosser sometimes, but probably not as much as I should. The Flosser works great with braces, and is much easier to use than threading the floss and running it through my teeth.
